Window Bird Feeders
Once you have purchased a window bird feeder you will need to decide which window to place it in. It's best to select a window that you can view easily. Perhaps near the table where you eat most of your meals. Also keep in mind what part of your house is frequented by birds. A quiet back yard would be preferred to a window in the front of the house if you live on a busy street. It doesn't matter what time of year you start using your bird feeder, although you'll probably get more action if you start in the spring or fall of the year. Sometimes it takes a little patience before the birds in your neighborhood will begin using your window bird feeder. Always make sure that the bird seed you are serving is for the birds that are indigenous to your area. Avoid using mixes that are to attract only certain species. Then sit back and wait, it may take up to a month before the birds in your area discover their new found feeding ground of your window bird feeder. But don't worry, once they find it they will be back time to your window bird feeder, time and time again. You should consider purchasing a number of window bird feeders one for every great viewing window in your home. Don't forget to give window bird feeders to a friend or family member. The enjoyment that you will receive viewing birds up close is hard to imagine. A window bird feeder is especially nice for a shut in or a friend who can't get out much. |
