This birdbath is a winner for many reasons. I love the design which is elegant in its simplicity. It gives the appearance of a heavier more expensive material but the best thing is that plastic is easy to clean. In Florida, we have problems with algae and mildew which can ruin the beauty of normal birdbaths quickly. Also, the Florida sun can just about boil the water in a metal birdbath where a light color plastic is ideal. It has been in place for over two months and the water wiggler has kept it clean as well as prevented our mosquito population from increasing. It took the birds a while to get used to it. It is winter now so I have only noticed them drinking from it but am sure that they will be bathing as soon as the weather warms up.I used sand as ballast and then covered the opening with duct tape. I then set it on a round patio block so it is very stable. Not all the screw holes lined up but that was not a problem as the screws easily made new holes where needed. [...]. The water wiggler device is a major hit with all the birds here on our Adirondack farm. It is so much fun watching them bathe and play and drink in the ripples!!!

This bird bath looks nice but is much lighter than I expected. I did fill the base with sand. The bowl is also too deep for bird bathing and so I added some stones to reduce the depth of the water. I don't think the birds can get a hold on the plastic very well. I have noticed that only large birds such as blackbirds are using it. The smaller ones stay away.

From a distance this bird bath doesn't look plastic. I haven't got the wiggler on yet as I have to get the batteries. But the bath itself is very nice.
