The gradually sloping design suits lawns and backyards of any size, and it encourages birds to bathe in the generous 17.5-inch-diameter basin. Plug the heated bird bath into any outlet, and the water stays warm even in chilly winter months. When the outside temperature falls below approximately 42 degrees Fahrenheit, the built-in automatic thermostat engages the heating element to warm the water to approximately 60 degrees.
Resilient polymer construction is easy to clean, and it withstands climate extremes so all year round, birds have a welcoming place to go. Within the bird bath basin, the heating element is completely hidden beneath the surface of the bath where it automatically provides birds with an open area for bathing in temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit. This heated bird bath also supplies ice-free water all winter long using 150 watts of thermostatically controlled power. Also, cleaning your bird bath is a breeze with the KozyBird Patented “Twist & Tip" system. Simply turn the bath basin and tip it for quick convenient water changes and cleaning. The bath may be spun off the pedestal so that it can be taken inside for thorough cleaning. Fill the base a quarter full with sand for increased weight and stability. Add your own extension cord for increased range. However, due to potential power loss, the manufacturer discourages connecting this product to extension cords longer than 15 feet in length. I wanted a bird bath I could use all year long for my birds. I came across this one and I absolutely love it!! There have been a couple of nights where the temps fell below 20 degrees and the water did not ice over. I've also added my water dripper and the birds absolutely go nuts over it, especially the Goldfinches! I attract all kinds of birds including Goldfinches, House Finches, Robins, Chickadees, Sparrows, Grackles, Mourning Doves and Chipping Sparrows.

We love the new bird bath we purchased from you. Stands a lot more level then our old one and love the look of it compared to our old one too. The birds thank you too, the old one was a little deeper and the birds always hesitated before jumping in but they don't with this one, so thank you for such a great product.

I would have given this a 5 star but the wildlife drink the dish dry. I'm filling it twice a day. The dish is very shallow. To be fair, we have deer which are probably drinking most of it

Our new Kozy bird bath looks great on the patio and is a huge hit with our backyard birds, but that's the problem: it only holds about one gallon of water. By the time the birds drink and bathe, the bath's almost empty. We've been filling it twice daily to keep up. Birds need to clean their feathers to keep warm, and the dirt in the bath proves that.

After messing with small heaters in our birdbaths we bit the bullet and bought this one. All I can say is wish we had done this years ago. The depth is just right as some of our smaller birds do not like the water more than an inch or two deep. The fact that the basin unscrews and can be brought in the house to clean is an added bonus.

Q1: How is the basin attached to the pedestal? Is the pedestal hollow?
A: The basin simply twists onto the pedestal and then will remain secure until twisted off. The pedestal is hollow as the extension cord goes down through the base in order to be plugged in.
Q2: Is there an island in the middle of the bath? Does the cord go down through the middle of the pedestal?
A: There is a slight hump in the middle (not technically an island), under which the heating element is located. The cord extends up through the base of the pedestal and safely tucks away out of sight on the basin's underside.
Q3: How many watts is the heater? What temperature will this keep the water to?
A: This heater is 150 watts. The heater turns on automatically when the water temperature is 43 degrees or lower and will automatically shut off at 60 degrees and stay off until 43 degrees and repeats the cycle.
Q4: How much water does this birdbath hold?
A: This model birdbath holds 1 to 1.5 gallons of water.
Q5: Is this birdbath heavy enough to withstand a wind storm?
