Basin, Pedestal, Heater, Power cord, Mounting hardware
The Allied Precision Heated Bird Bath Bowl & Pedestal is open for birds any time of year. Its resilient polymer construction keeps it looking new and provides a home for birds year round. When the outside temperature falls below approximately 42 degrees Fahrenheit, the built-in automatic thermostat engages the heating element to warm the water to approximately 60 degrees. During warmer months, when the heater is not needed, the cord tucks safely out of sight on the underside of the basin. Add your own extension cord for increased range. However, due to potential power loss, the manufacturer discourages connecting this product to extension cords longer than 15 feet in length.
The strong polymer design is easy to clean and durable. The bath's heating element is cleverly concealed inside the structure, giving birds an open bathing area. The 150-watt heating element prevents ice from forming in this area in temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit. Fill the base a quarter full of sand or gravel for increased weight and stability. It's easy to assemble thanks to the EZ-Twister bar that helps you thread the bird bath bowl onto the pedestal. Includes additional mounting hardware which can be used to permanently mount basin on an existing pedestal (up to 12 inches in diameter) or railing (up to 12 inches wide).

We had one of these bird baths by the front living room window. We added the water wiggle with ceramic top. It attracted unusual birds as well as our regulars. The hidden heater keeps the water from freezing. We got another one for the feeding area in back by our kitchen window. The clean classic lines are pleasing to the eye. The birds like to bathe in it also.

Just bought this, and after reading other reviews, thought it would work good enough. Got it today, filled it up with sand, and put it out. The plastic is so thin, that even with the base full of sand, any weight makes the plastic bow and the bird bath tip. Just putting water in it made the bird bath bow to one side or the other and the water slosh out. If you want a heated bird bath spend the extra cash and get a decent one.

Comments about Allied Precision Heated Bird Bath Bowl & Pedestal:
This is the second purchase I have made of the same product since Christmas. This heated birdbath has worked so convincingly in my own landscape habitat that I purchased another for my mother's deck ! When the usual resources become frozen, the heated birdbath becomes the focal point for all the year-rounders ! Birds you never expected show up - who knew that goldfinches actually wintered-over in PA? I have seen my first backyard Bluebird because they stopped by for the warmed water ! Anyone who enjoys feathered creatures will be surprised and gratified by this product !

We used a pile of stone dust to fill the base up to 5 " from top, spread a 3" layer of stone dust over the ground and leveled the birdbath with a spirit level before filling.

Comments about Allied Precision Heated Bird Bath Bowl & Pedestal:
This heated birdbath is an excellent solution to my winter long dilemma of keeping open water for the non-migratory birds and wildlife who remain with us all year. It is also attractive and sufficiently large enough to replace my previous summer birdbath in it's prime location - forever ! It requires no timer or other add ons to do its job... It just beautifully provides year round drinking and bathing water for our feathered guests !

The first day the bath was in operation it was full of birds bathing. It made me smile to watch them enjoying themselves. Wonder why I didn't buy the heated bird bath sooner.

Q1: How is the basin attached to the pedestal? Is the pedestal hollow?
A: The basin comes with hardware which makes it very simple to attach and twist the base on to the pedestal. The pedestal is hollow and the manufacturer recommends filling the pedestal with sand in order to prevent the bird bath from possibly tipping over.
Q2: What is the weight?
A: This bird bath with pedestal weighs 10 lbs.
Q3: How deep is the bowl in inches?
A: The Heated Bird Bath Bowl & Pedestal is 2 inches deep and 20 inches across.
Q4: Is the basin detached for easy changing of water?
A: Yes, the base and the bowl come separate for easy changing of water.
Q5: Is it possible to purchase just the bowl for your heated bird bath?
A: No, we sell this item as a whole unit.
