The included mounting hardware attaches this sturdy bird bath to your deck rail where you'll always be able to keep an eye on the birds. The thermostat and 150-watt heating element will keep the birds happy, even during the coldest months. When the outside temperature falls below approximately 42 degrees Fahrenheit, the built-in automatic thermostat engages the heating element to warm the water to approximately 60 degrees.
The plastic basin has a 12-inch diameter, and features a gradual slope that encourages birds to bathe. This bird bath is ideal for use from spring through autumn, and it will withstand winter weather as well. During warm months, the 6-inch power cord can be clipped out of the way to the underside of the bath. The textured surface and contoured rim ensure a solid grip when birds land, and the gradual slope encourages them to stay and bathe. Make an all-season resort for birds in your own yard with the Allied Precision Heated Deck Mount Bird Bath. Bracket for deck mounting is 6 inches wide. Add your own extension cord for increased range. However, due to potential power loss, the manufacturer discourages connecting this product to extension cords longer than 15 feet in length.

Put "Kill-a-watt" monitor on it...heater was
using 150 watts but unable to prevent ice freeze up.
I do not recommend usage for Central MN and northward.

My husband is quite a bird fancier. He has been looking for a heated bird bath in our local area at several different stores to no avail. When we found this one on line and read all the information on it we thought it fit what he was looking for. We ordered it one day and the very next morning it was delivered. Wow what quick turn around and delight. We are in the process of puttung it up and to enjoy the birds as they come to drink. Thank you so much. My hubby is so happy.

I looked and for the price you cannot beat this bird bath. Well made (in USA) and not to difficult to mount. I just put this up and the birds are checking it out ! I like the fact it has a thermostat
