We mounted the nozzle about 15 feet up the trunk of a tree and set it to spray out horizontally. All kinds of birds came to the spray, but most interesting were the hummingbirds, who would stay 20 minutes or more! The design uses VERY little water. The only problem we had was that the hose leading up to the nozzle was small diameter vinyl tubing, and occasionally one of the squirrels in the neighborhood would get thirsty and simply chew a hold in it. We had small splices to reconnect the pieces when that occurred. The only way to eliminate this would be to put the tubing inside another, harder tube. But we found it not to be too much of a problem that we just lived with it.

Comments about Leaf Mister:

The misting valve works great and as expected, although I have not seen any birds around it yet. The hose is of ample length and its black color blends well with the landscape. The installation was extremely easy; however, I had to purchase a replacement brass hose Y-adapter from the local hardware store - the included plastic version leaks and its shut-off valve does not work.
